Into Fitness? Over 40? Read my first post and pass it on...

Hello everyone and thanks for joining me here today.  First off, I started this blog to try to draw some attention to an issue that I'm having as a result of a contest I entered.  The contest is to represent a website for the 2011, bodyspace.com, which is esentially the facebook of the fitness world.  The winner also is featured on the cover of Ironman Magazine and will work at the bodybuilding.com booth at both the Arnold Fitness Convention as well as The Olympia in Las Vegas.  For someone who makes their living in the fitness industry, and who's also been a workout devote for over 28 years, this is a really big deal.

So, are you wondering what my issue is yet?  I'll tell you.  The fact is that, besides being the oldest woman in the competition, there are those who entered who have procured organized voting on their behalf.  This can't be proven, but the girl in the lead has absolutely no muscle tone and her suit is almost entirely up the crack of her "you know what".  You may, at this point, think I'm being caddy, I can assure you that I am not.  If you're familiar with the "figure" or "bikini" look is in the fitness industry you would understand what I'm talking about.  For "figure" girls, which is a professional sport by the way, the look is very lean with muscle size and definition.  For "bikini" the look is less size with minor muscle definition.  Both looks call for a very attractive face and overall aesthetically pleasing appearance.  I'm not talking about girls you see on the cover of regular fit magazines, but rather magazines like Oxygen or Women's Muscle and Fitness.

I started this blog to draw attention to the older women who not only live the lifestyle, but have been doing so for many many years.  I've been working out regularly since 1983 and have been earning my living through fitness for over 2 decades.  If you feel that I should win this contest I ask you to follow the link I'll provide and vote for me every single day through the end of November.  There is no monetary reward for winning, but rather the privelage of representing bodyspace for everyone out there who wants to be fit, wants to stay fit, and wants to live a long and healthy life.

Lasty I want you to know that besides working out for 28 years, I also competed in the sport of Figure for 4 seasons.  I started at age 39 and retired at 43.  I won and placed in the top 3 at many shows and retired after winning a State show.  In addition, I've had three surgeries on my cervical spine.  I have a 4 level fusion with plates and screws resulting from my degenerative cervical disc disease.  The surgeries were in 2001, 2003, and the last one was in 2004 exactly 5 months prior to my first figure competition where I took a 2nd and a 3rd place trophy.

Thank you all so much!  Here's the link below and my i.d. under the women's tab is jschott65
